Ms. Tasnim binti Abdul Hadi , As Grant Manager with the Hong Leong Foundation Malaysia, Tasnim manages funding requests from social organisations in Malaysia and works closely with community partners to measure and monitor the monetary and social impact of the Foundation’s contributions and also helps social organisations to set their strategic direction and better structure their programmes to ensure sustainability. Since joining the Foundation, Tasnim has restructured its community development work, focusing more on long term partnerships with deep community impact and crafted two novel programmes – the NGO Accelerator Programme and the Better Homes programme. As part of the CSR Department, Tasnim also helps to ensure integration between company and CSR strategies.
Tasnim has always had a keen interest in social issues and community development, and has experience working and volunteering with Amnesty International Australia, Amnesty International Malaysia, The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Kechara Soup Kitchen. She is also passionate about youth empowerment, education and debating, and previously managed Makeweekend, a nationwide programme that gathers people together to develop solutions over a weekend. She was a delegate at the Youth Forum for the Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers and is a graduate from the Communications and Media School of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. She occasionally coaches and adjudicates at varsity debating tournaments and is a preferred consultant for the Malaysian Institute for Debates and Public Speaking. She hopes to one day retire in a house by the beach with 10 cats, 5 dogs, 2 hedgehogs and a very large library.
