    • The Global Peace and Development Service Alliance has been kicked off during the Global Forum on Service in Manila, Philippines as a successful establishment of APPDSA in Asia and the Pacific and APDSA in East Africa.
    • APPDSA will celebrate its 3rd year anniversary in October 2017 and aims to contribute to promoting and achieving the SDGs by encouraging the engagement of youth and fostering action-oriented partnerships.
    • Now, broader regional collaboration has been expected to scale up each service initiative and the Alliance can be leveraged multifold with Governments, Civil Society Organizations and the Private sector to forge consensus and expanded APPDSA partnerships, building its credibility and authoritative voice
    • Specific projects can contribute to wide-ranging partnership in achieving the SDG and will be reviewed as a signature programmes by focus sustainable social impact measurable in the communities. Alliance projects will be scaled its operations in achieving measurable impacts and establish a strong evidence-based record in answering the many challenges of ongoing conflict and underdevelopment.
    • Growth of strategic partnerships with organizations and platforms beyond the current base: GPDSA/APPDSA will achieve a substantive movement with various pressing issues including environmental service by supporting the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, Thai Royal Foundation for water management and Prime Minister Modi’s Swatchgraha (Clean India) Campaign

Objective

  • Sharing the experiences, knowledge and lessons learned through the exemplary cases initiated by youth and their participation from South Asia region in water, sanitation and hygiene projects as part of achieving SDG’s of the United Nations.
  • Enhancing regional collaboration with academia for analytical studies including impact assessment
  • Finding innovative approaches to fulfill the SDGs and mobilize the wide-ranging partnerships, as well as review the plans of pilot projects, i.e. Smart Technology Exhibition, etc.
  • Stepping up engagement of donors and sponsor partners in multi-stakeholder coalitions including Impact 2030
  • Establishing a major global impact movement for peace with GPDSA, Global Interfaith Wash Alliance action with APPDSA, Yuvsatta, GPF, and partners.

Expected outcome

  • Enhanced regional collaboration made in healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages and levels by implementation of Environmental initiative through engaging young people in water, sanitation and hygiene projects.
  • Further upscaling universal access to water and sustainable sanitation to all in the regions by supporting the development of radically new and smart technologies as well as installation of new water, sanitation and hygiene products and services.
  • Establishment of an ongoing global impact assessment in specific issue areas of UN agenda including environmental, water and hygiene with multilateral partners in fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) by 2030.

Provisional Agenda

06:00 pM item 1: Regonal capacity building

  • Findings and recommendations will be suggested by sharing lessons on partnership mechanism created from the perspective of Public-Private Partnerships, Corporate Social Responsibility, Academia and SDG Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation in Community Development in fulfilling the mission of the GPDSA/APPDSA.
  • The session shall come out with future course of planning and action especially in achieving SDG’s in various regions and countries which are lacking behind.

  2. GIWA/WASH and Yuvsatta will be introduced as model project to showcase as large regional collaboration efforts in achieving the SDGs

  1. Promoting major global impact assessment for peace and GIWA action with APPDSA, Yuvsatta, GPF, HAII and partners in fulfilling the SDGs
  2. To define projects in five major tracks: Environment, Sanitation, health, Education and Peace. We shall support tree plantation and cleaning of Ganga and other rivers under Clean India programme. Installation on toilets and providing safe drinking water with be the key areas of collaboration. Vocational training and value based education is essential component of all the SDG’s.
  3. UN entities and Private sector partnership connected with the major global impact movement for peace and GIWA action and other APPDSA signature projects will contribute to building a capacity and create funding pool in short and long-term strategy.

  1. How to mobilize Private Sector Partnerships to Alliance Signature Projects in sustaining development in the region.
  2. How to leverage on the APPDSA Forum in December, Seoul, Korea and link the major global events
